Issayas blames CIA plot for youth exodus. Is it true?

  2. Source column 1, spans 21 columns

In his 13 May 2008 interview with Reuters Issayas again blames a CIA plot for the exodus of Eritrean youth throughout the world. The recent allegation against the CIA made by him is just another diversion of public attention away from his crime against youth and education. During the revolution he killed many intelligent youth and he is still doing the same thing against youth after liberation.

However, Solomon Woldemariam, who was in the EPLF leadership from 1971-1977, suggested that the number was much larger. Solomon added that around one thousand fighters who participated in the Menka movement were rehabilitated after undergoing serious political indoctrination and self-criticism( Mengiseab, 49: 2005)Source
