Liberation War
GIC
Khartoum(sep.2,2005)
The Chairman of the EMP has exp ressed his deep sorrow about the
death of the late Eritrean Foreign Minister who had le ft very unique
stamps in the Eritrean liberatio n war as explained ambassador
Abdella Adem. Mr Abdela said that his mind t ook him back to the
days of the armed struggle recalling the great roles and precious
contributions of the hero Ali Said to liberate Eritrea. Mr.Adem said
that he had known the late Eritrea n hero as a disti nguished fighter
and leader who was highly respected by his troops and comrades. He
said that he met the late at Agembssa, Samhar Regions, where he was
a commander of a division; at a time the EPLF had three divisions;
and the passed away was characteri zed by very unique leadership
characters and courage. Mr. Adem made clear that the late foreign
minister was among the very few who had offered precious
contributions for Eritrea. It is really unfortunate not to able to take
part at the funeral ceremony of a dear friend who had been known
for his faithful friendship, amicabil ity, courage and kindness amid
his friends, colleagues, comrades a nd troops, said Adem. Eritreans
are enduring an ordeal because of th e repressive political situation in
Eritrea, stated Mr.Adem. The mi serable situation in Eritrea has
prevented Eritreans from sharing with each other happiness and
sorrows." So long we are not a ble to extend our condolence the
family of the late from a nearby, I would like to give my condolence
through the Eritrean media outlets," added Mr. Adem, the
Chairman of the EMP. "This reflects the magnitude of oppression
the Eritreans are living." He conclud ed, his cursory statement to the
GIC, that Eritrea has lost a hero who passed away in a very critical
situation, said Adem.
